Membership Benefits

IPSO Alliance is a global, non-profit organization with membership is open to any organization interested in IP-based approach to connecting Smart Objects. Why Join IPSO? Read some of the compelling reasons.

Membership Levels

There are three classes of membership: Promoter, Contributor and Innovator. Promoters are eligible for voting in the IPSO Alliance to elect the Board of Directors and to serve as Chairpersons of Committees. Innovator (a discounted Contributor membership status) is reserved for small companies with 10 or fewer employees and annual revenues of $2.5M or less.

The rights and privileges of each class of membership shall be as specified in the bylaws and other founding documents of the IPSO Alliance and may be modified by action of two-thirds of the Promoters. No party shall hold more than one membership in the IPSO Alliance and no party shall have more than one member on the Board of Directors.

Promoter Member Benefits: ($5,000/year)

  • Eligible to  serve on the Board of Directors
  • Eligible to hold leadership positions within IPSO committees
  • Voting rights in all IPSO business
  • Priority placement at IPSO events, shows and advertising
  • Opportunity to keynote at IPSO events
  • Reduced rates for Interops and other IPSO Events
  • Company logo highlighted on IPSO website and company’s Twitter feed included on News page
  • Public acknowledgement at IPSO Alliance events such as corporate logo displays
  • Right to use IPSO Alliance technical guidelines and use cases. This includes access to pre-publication drafts of the design guidelines and internal documents through the Committees as well as the opportunity to review and comment on new guidelines prior to their adoption
  • Right to participate in Committees to help create and influence the use cases, technical guidelines, marketing materials, lobbying efforts, and all other Alliance work products
  • Invitation to attend and participate in Alliance member-only meetings as well as teleconferences for the various Committees and Working Groups
  • Right to use the IPSO Alliance Interoperability Program to qualify products and services
  • Right to participate in IPSO Alliance Plugfests free of charge for cross vendor interoperability testing
  • Access to speaking opportunities at industry events
  • Demonstrate certified products at Alliance meetings, tradeshow booths, and other Alliance events
  • Right to use IPSO Alliance marketing material internally and externally
  • Free Alliance marketing kits: signs, brochures, etc.

Contributor Member Benefits: ($2,500/year)

  • Right to use IPSO Alliance technical guidelines and use cases. This includes access to pre-publication drafts of the design guidelines and internal documents through the Committees / Working Groups as well as the opportunity to review and comment on new guidelines prior to their adoption
  • Right to participate in Committees to help create and influence the use cases, technical guidelines, marketing materials, lobbying efforts, and all other IPSO Alliance work products

Innovator Member Benefits ($1,000/year)

All the benefits of a Contributor Membership. Discounted rate is reserved for small companies with 10 or fewer employees and annual revenues of $2.5M or less.
